The Rivers & Estuaries group comprises a group of professionals capable of providing expertise in numerical modeling, conceptualising physical processes and communicating the outcomes of detailed technical analysis to members of the public. The group is accustomed to working with problems that require integrated solutions that satisfy the requirements of clients, the environment and the community and are dedicated to ensuring that the outcomes of all investigations are practical and sustainable.
Patterson Britton staff have considerable experience in river hydrodynamics, sedimentary and estuarine processes, geomorphology, water resource management, and community consultation.
Activities typically undertaken by the Rivers & Estuaries group include:
- Flood studies, floodplain risk management studies and floodplain risk management plans, prepared in accordance with the ‘Floodplain Management Manual’ (2001)
- Flood studies, flood impact assessments and flood risk assessments to support Development Applications and rezoning applications
- Estuary processes studies, estuary management studies and estuary management plans, completed in accordance with the ‘Estuary Management Manual’ (1992)
- Catchment management studies
- Flood mitigation option investigations
- Stream rehabilitation, river engineering and geomorphology studies
- Conceptual and detailed designs for stormwater treatment systems, detention basins, gross pollutant traps and water pollution control ponds
- Conceptual and detailed civil design for residential and SEPP5 developments.
